Instructions for Oral Presenters

Please note that Congress rooms will be equipped with the following:

• 1 computer fed from the central server

• 1 large screen

• 1 LCD projector

• 1 desktop computer (PC) with CD player

• 1 podium microphone

• 1 wireless lavalier microphone

• 1 laser pointer

Computer Presentation Guidelines

To ensure consistency within the presentations please follow these simple guidelines:

  • All oral presentations will be using computers provided by the Congress organization. No personal laptop or notebook computers will be allowed for oral presentations.
  • Speakers should visit the Speaker Ready Room preferably one day before their scheduled presentation time. The Speaker Ready Room will be located in West Rooms 101-102. Hours of operation will be as follows:

Sunday, May 16

08:00 – 19:00

Monday, May 17

07:30 - 18:00

Tuesday, May 18

07:30 - 18:00

Wednesday, May 19

07:30 - 15:30

Authors should clearly identify themselves and specify the room, date and time of presentation.

• Only the following formats will be accepted:

- CD

- USB Memory Stick

During your visit to the Speaker Ready Room, a staff member will help you load your presentation on the Conference host computers, run through it, and check it. Your presentation will be sent from the central server to the room where you will be presenting. Conference staff will be available in the session rooms for assistance. All electronic presentations will be deleted immediately after the Congress.

  • Only Microsoft PowerPoint (version 2000 and up) presentations formatted for PC computers will be accepted. Please make sure that your file ends with a “.ppt or .pps”.
  • We strongly recommend that you use only the standard fonts of Arial or Times New Roman.
  • It will be easier if you build your presentation using XGA resolution (1024 x 768) or VGA (800 x 600)
  • Please follow the file name convention:
    Date__Presentation Time__Room__FirstName__Surname.ppt
    For example: Jul28_0930_2000A_John_Smith.ppt
  • Any video presentation should be embedded in the Power Point presentation. Authors should have on hand the source video on DVD.
